After Rangers’ dramatic penalty shootout victory over Fenerbahçe on Thursday night saw them progress to the Europa League quarter-finals, the ‘Gers have now won four of their six penalty shootouts in all UEFA competitions. It was the first time they emerged victorious from a shootout in Europe since the 2008 UEFA Cup semi-final against Fiorentina, following the heartache suffered in Seville in 2022.
