An unbeaten night for Scottish teams in Europe has been a rare occurrence this season. In another season, a home win against the Bulgarian Champions and a score draw in Italy would be a fantastic addition to the coefficient.

Unfortunately the bar is on the floor this season and so in the grand scheme of things the 0.6 points earned tonight through Celtic’s draw (0.2 points) and Rangers’ victory (0.4 points) won’t matter much.

We are still well outside the top 15, although we are still not arithmetically out of it, yet. We trail Cyprus by 3.893 Points, and Celtic could still progress, win 7 games, reach the final, earn 1.25 bonus points and put 4 points on the board while our rivals lose all remaining matches….

Of course we’re almost certainly not going to catch Cyprus, and so UEFA’s rankings look like this, which is pretty much how they’ll finish in May:
