Those looking for a good Scottish omen heading into the World Cup, look no further.
There are 338 Scottish players that have never lost a Scotland match in which they scored. Impressive, but 185 of them only scored once for Scotland, so we’ll ignore them. Sorry, lads.
That leaves 153 players who scored at least two goals for Scotland and avoided defeat every time they did so. Still too many.
Only 46 men have scored five or more goals for Scotland without losing any of those games. Now we’re getting somewhere.

Exactly 25 players have scored six or more goals for Scotland without ever losing a match in which they scored.
So apologies to Charlie Nicholas, Darren Fletcher, Gary McAllister, Stuart Armstrong, Sir Alex Ferguson, Darren Jackson, Leigh Griffiths, Scott Brown and hundreds of others, but your unbeaten scoring run for Scotland isn’t making the cut.
