Hibs announced they've received a 7,000 allocation for the Quarter-Final at Celtic Park
As we approach the Quarter-Final stage of the 2024/25 Scottish Cup, Hibernian have announced they have received a 7,000 ticket allocation for their away match at Celtic Park on Sunday 29th March. This allocation - ten times the usual 700 tickets received for a league match - follows Hibs receiving an initial allocation of only 2,667 tickets. Hibs’ statement implies they had to push hard for the ‘breakthrough’ of receiving the higher allocation, but the truth is that Celtic had no option but to concede.
The rules in the Scottish Cup clearly state that the away club has the right to claim tickets amounting to 20% of spectator capacity - to be agreed by both clubs and the police. 20% of Celtic Park is actually closer to 12,000 tickets, but that’s not a number that the police would likely ever sign off on.
Even in the pre “slashed allocation” days, the police would never agree to more than
