The SIX Ways Scotland Can Qualify For Euro 2028
And Why Losing To Greece Was For The Best
The UEFA Executive Committee met today (Wednesday 21st May) in Bilbao ahead of the Europa League final. As part of their meeting they signed off on the UEFA Euro 2028 qualification process.
There will be 12 groups, of either four or five teams, all fighting for the 24 available spots for Euro 2028 in the UK & Ireland (9th June- 9th July 2028).
After funding was not secured for the redevelopment of Casement Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland will no longer be one of the five hosts, and so there will no longer be 10 stadiums.
There will now be 9 stadiums used:
(6 England, 1 Scotland, 1 Wales, 1 Ireland):
It’s the third time England have hosted the Euros, and the second time for Scotland after hosting matches at Hampden in the delayed Euro 2020 tournament. It will be the first time ever hosting for both Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
