The European qualifiers held lots of promise for the Scottish sides, but were ultimately a failure, given all four sides lost their playoff round ties, after Dundee United had fallen on penalties in the round before. Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen have league phase football after dropping down a competition following their defeats at the final hurdle.
In the season preview, I stated that it would likely take at least four Scottish teams reaching the league phase for us to have a decent chance of reclaiming a top 15 UEFA ranking by the end of the season. After failing to do so, our chances have diminished further, which is a view also held by Opta stats - they give Scotland just a 7.5% chance of making the top 15.
If, as expected, Scotland finish outside the top 15, then the entry points for the four (not five) Scottish teams for qualifiers in summer 2027 would be:
