If you are not interested in the Scotland National team or World cup information, you can ‘toggle off’ email notifications for the Scotland Section of the website.

The previous article looked at Scotland's World Cup Group, our opponents, the stadiums, the allocations, and our major tournament record. This article will detail the specifics on what you need to do next to get your hands on World Cup tickets. The SFA will be releasing further information this week, and I have ran this article past them for an off the record check for accuracy.

THE TWO APPLICATIONS

There have already been two ballots available to the general public for applying for World Cup tickets. I posted about them on this website in September, however they took place before we had even qualified so it wouldn't have been on many people's radar.

FIFA haven’t released the details regarding how many tickets will be available in the next ballot, so these figures are only my own estimates.

  • There are over 7 million total tickets for all 104 World Cup matches.

    • around 6 million once hospitality etc are removed.

  • There are 5 million tickets in total for the 72 group stage matches only,

    • closer to 4 million once the hospitality seats are taken out.

The two previous FIFA ballots combined resulted in sales of about 2 million tickets, from across all 104 matches. That means there is an estimated 4 million normal tickets still to be sold (66%).
