The Race For European Football This Season!
This season's European entrants as the table currently stands
Half the league have now played 11 matches, completing the first round of fixtures. Just six points separate Dundee in 11th from Hibs in 3rd, meaning consecutive wins could see any team in the Premiership rise several places. Only three clubs have won more than three matches so far; Falkirk (4), Celtic (6) and Hearts (9), with Falkirk and Rangers featuring in the “race for European football” graphic for the first time this season.
As in previous seasons, I’ll be tracking how the current league table translates to European qualification spots at the end of this season. This analysis and graphics will remain exclusive to paid subscribers - thank you once again for supporting my work.

THIS SEASON
As will be discussed in the “next season” section - this season’s European entry points are as good as it gets for Scottish football - and for quite some time. The falling coefficient means that if someone outside the historic big 2 were to win the title - this season is the year to do it. Hearts currently lead the table by a whopping 9 points, and their current points per game is at the pace of recent Champions.
